The Sound of a Landscape books are the brainchild of avant-garde sound artist, photographer and author MiE Fielding. In this exciting and innovative series, Fielding brings together his passion for the natural world, field recording and sound art to produce a truly unique presentation which not only captures the two dimentional beauty with it's stunning artwork, but also the natural sound associated with any given location. By reading the accompanying QR codes with a camera phone, the sound recordings come alive and are further enhanced if the reader makes use of headphones, as they are designed to be immersive. The books are complimented by the wonderful poetry of Cullercoats poet, Harry Gallagher.
The Northumberland coast stretches for approximately 100 km from Marshall Meadows, north of Berwick-Upon-Tweed, to the mouth of the River Tyne. Its northern section of 64 km is designated an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty and includes magnificent castles, several islands, including the world famous Farne’s archipelago and the pretty villages of Bamburgh, Craster, Alnmouth and Warkworth.
