'Lladeratto'

Lladeratto is a made up artistic term invented by MiE Fielding

to describe art which embraces a knowledge of all art production techniques, but employs no reliance on any individual method, as it often incorporates several or many processes.

The word ‘Lladeratto’ does not exist in the English language and is used to explain the lack of planning

or intention in the produced art. Methods often rely on improvisation and automatic painting, embracing accidental discoveries and the will to accept an emerging form over rigid planning. It requires the creator to be ‘mindless’ and spontaneous, free of thought, as if in a dream. The finished ‘Opera Aperta’ or open work requires the viewer‘s interpretation to complete the composition.

Fielding has then given finished works a title via a migration of meaning that are not intended to be

literal, as the pieces were never planned.
